Our hydrosols are created by us with great intention, and made in small batches from organically grown and wildcrafted herbs that were ethically harvested at our dwelling place on the countryside in southern Montana. Steam distilled in our copper alembic “Cleo” during auspicious times for more magickal & alchemical purposes.

Hydro meaning water + Sol (sun) solution = water solution

Hydrosols are also known as herbal distillates, herbal waters, and floral waters. They are the precursor to essential oils.

Adding hydrosols to your daily ritual has numerous benefits, and can be utilized several different ways.

Somatic (Body/Physical)

• Skincare - With the antimicrobial properties that many herbs carry, certain hydrosols have been known to give relief to minor cuts, bruises, burns, bug bites, dry/itchy/irritated skin, plus it works well for acne alleviation. Applying hydrosol as a facial/body spray, or adding a few tablespoons to a bath, it can help with reducing redness, adding moisture, and will leave your skin with a beautiful, natural glow. Spray under the arms for a refreshing deodorant or soak your feet in an epsom salt foot bath with a splash of hydrosol mixed in. The antimicrobial properties cleanse and freshen breath when used as a mouthwash, and has been also thought to help with gum issues. Also makes a great hair tonic for shine, regrowth, and strengthening.

• Bodywork - Incorporating hydrosol into your own massage therapy, working out those aches and pains with the analgesic (pain reducer/anti-inflammatory) properties. The calming/cooling affect is beneficial for anyone feeling over heated in the sun, after a good workout, or during that climacteric stage in a woman’s life. Stabilizing pH levels and restoring hormonal balance. Sprayed on your chest before or during breath work, like yoga or, meditation, the expectorant properties help open up the passage ways by breathing it in, plus it cleanses the air around you.

• Freshen and deodorize your space by spraying your linens, carpets, countertops, even your yoga mat.

Cognition (Mind/Gnosis)

• Most of the herbs within my hydrosols support higher cortical functioning, frontal functioning, and visuospatial functioning. Helping with memory, alertness, and focus. These herbs are also thought to reduce stress/anxiety and are accompanied by modulations of dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, and GABA, increasing a balanced state of mind and wellbeing when used regularly.

AEtheric (Spiritual/Astral)

• The magic of the copper still and the timing of when the incubation process is complete, adding magickal waters that correspond to your modus operandi has been said to enhance certain energies and can be quite necessary for special workings, from spellwork to enhancing precognition. That is if you are into the more esoteric realm. This type of practice is not required for gaining the holistic benefits of the hydrosol. You do not have to know what is happening in the celestial sky for the properties to work in magical ways. For me this area is a very personal thing. Always remember that your magic is your own, however you choose to use it.
