Conceived by artists Amy and Daniel McLeod, Bohème Apothēca specializes in herbalism, alchemy, jewelry design, metal arts, vintage fashion, and more. We offer a wide array of unique handmade items created by us, including herbal concoctions made by Amy such as tea blends, tinctures, hydrosols, hand-dipped incense, essential oils, and small-batch skincare, as well as hand-selected vintage items. Daniel, who operates under the shop name Fixed Star Forge, creates one-of-a-kind, hand-forged kitchen knives and architectural home décor. He forges his own Damascus steel, crafting each piece entirely by hand from start to finish. Custom orders are always welcome.
Together, we create jewelry featuring Damascus steel pendants and wire-wrapped crystals using stones we have found along the Yellowstone, Gallatin, and now Jefferson River. We are constantly evolving, exploring new creations and possibilities.
Bohème Apothēca was founded on December 7th, 2018, initially as a brick-and-mortar store in downtown Livingston, MT. Over the years leading up to the summer of 2024, we persevered through significant challenges: a global pandemic, the Yellowstone River flood of 2022, a traumatic brain injury, and a broken leg with an upper ankle sprain. Despite our resilience, the housing boom that began in Montana and several other states around 2020 made it unsustainable to maintain both the shop and our home. This left us in a state of uncertainty.
The physical store was a unique and enchanting blend of our three online brands at the time: Hermetic Mountain, Beatific Vintage, and Fixed Star Forge. Today, you can experience the same essence of magic here, now expressed in a more virtual form — an alchemical conjunction of our particular brand of creative weirdness.
As alchemists, we transform and grow. We took the perfect coagulation of our material concoction and continue to create and sell our wares here on our website. We now reside in the quaint town of Whitehall, MT, in what we call McLeod Castle—an adorable little brick home from 1900 featuring a heated greenhouse and a blacksmith shop, where magick and roots run deep.
